Steamy Airport Make out Session with Hot Guy
It was winter break when I met him. I was aboard the United Airlines flight from Rhode Island back to Ohio to see my parents. I was a freshman student at the prestigious college Brown University. I was flying back for the entire break and it was the first time I’d been home since college started. Which, I guess was no big deal. But I felt different, even after only a few months of leaving home. I felt more responsible, and mature than ever.
I had lived a sheltered high school life. I never went to parties or anything like that. My parents discouraged dating and made me work hard in school. I wasn’t complaining though, because I was an intelligent student. Math came to me easily. I was actually at Brown for engineering.
The thing that sucked about being as sheltered as I had been, I did enter college a virgin. I had a couple of boyfriends early in school, but it was short lived and not serious. And like my high school existence, my college existence was pretty much the same. There wasn’t a lot of time for social events. I was still young. There’d be plenty of time for boyfriends after college. College boys were kind of ridiculous anyway.
I was sitting in my cramped up seat on the plane while waiting for other passengers to sit down. It was rather packed, as there were multiple connecting flights on my itinerary. I had purchased a ticket at the last minute, and during Christmas time, you take what you can get. This flight would touch down in Chicago for 2 hours around 8 pm, and then back to Dayton International Airport, which was my destination.
A guy with messy, curly brown hair that went over his ears sat down next to me. He had big headphones around his neck “Hey,” he said, sitting down.
I shyly said “Hi” and went back to my notes. He was cute. And he was in close proximity. It made be somewhat uncomfortable. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t want to keep looking at it, but I was really attracted to him and just wanted to stare.
My anxiety was flaring up and I knew my cheeks were starting to as well. Downside of having pale skin. I stared out the window. Thank God for window seats.
“I’m Jared,” he said to me. I turned at him. “Uh..Tinsley.”
“That’s different,” he commented. Not sure if it was a compliment.
“Yeah my parents are weird,” I muttered.
“No, I like it,” Jared decided.
I kind of looked over at him and went back to my notes.
“Am I weirding you out?” he asked.
I chuckled. “A little. People don’t usually strike up random conversation on a plane.”
“I do,” he said. “I like meeting people.”
For someone who looked a few years older than me, he sounded like a kid. Like, the excited kid. The one all excited about everything. World is your oyster and stuff. I sighed. Well, I thought, I might as well take this opportunity to be social. So I indulged Jared. We talked for the remainder of the flight. I had learned that he was recently graduated music major. The artistic type. Pretty much the opposite of my brainy type. He had me listened to a couple songs he composed with his keyboard. He lived in Dayton and was visiting his grandparents in Rhode Island. I told him about school.
The plane touched down in Chicago quicker than I thought it would. I guess we just got swept away in conversation. He was really interesting, and very nice to look at, so I’m not complaining.
“We’re almost home,” Jared said as we pulled our carry-ons down the hall to the gate.
“Yay,” I said happily. I was tired though. Apparently social interaction made me tired. I probably should talk to to people more.
Jared turned to me at the gate. “Feel like dinner?” he asked.
I could feel my face start to heat up. “Uh, sure,” I said. The airport wasn’t very busy, even with it being the evening. I guess many people weren’t coming to Ohio for Christmas. We sat ourselves down at some little cafe that had salads and sandwiches. I picked out a sandwich and he grabbed a salad.
“I got hers,” he told the cashier.
“Oh no, you don’t have–” He cut me off. “Nah, I got it.”
We sat down in the booth at the cafe. We talked some more. It took us about 20 minutes to eat, and then he said he wanted to show me something. We still had time before we had to make it through security to prepare for the next flight. I decided to go with him. He intrigued me.
We passed by different gates and walked down an escalator and ended up in a far end of the airport, near where the USO was. He stopped at a door labeled “Chapel.” I didn’t know they had a chapel at an airport. Weird.
The chapel was dim. The lights were low and there were like six little pews and a small podium.
“This is cool, right?” he asked.
“Sure,” I said, unsure. I was confused as to why we were here. So I asked him. He said that he loved how secluded it was. He then started talking about how he traveled a lot, and liked to explore airports on his layovers.
I really hoped I wasn’t putting myself in a dangerous position. We all had to watch the sexual assault videos at orientation. It would be just my luck. We were standing there silently. I didn’t know what to say and I was feel awkward.
“So, he said. “Wanna makeout?” he asked.
Let’s just say he caught me off-guard. “Uh..yeah,” I said, surprising myself. This was so unlike me. I couldn’t believe I was doing this. I mean, I know it’s not really scandalous, but to me, it was. We started making out and I could feel his hands in my hair. His hands were moving around my body, but I didn’t stop him. College is all about experimentation, right? I knew I there was no way I was going to lose my virginity in an airport chapel, especially in front of that cross on the podium. But that didn’t mean I wasn’t gonna have just a little fun.
He was pushing me up against the chapel wall and putting his tongue in my mouth. I hadn’t done it much before, but he didn’t seem to mine. Last thing I needed was to be embarrassed as I plunged into the unknown.
He continued kissing me and had his hand wrapped up in my hair. It was a little strange, forceful. Not in a bad way, but in a way I was surprised at how much I liked it. He kissed down my neck, leaving marks in some places. I tried to keep from making any real audible noise, so it basically came out,”Mmm.” It felt good. Really good. It got me thinking about losing my virginity. I always figured, you know, it’ll happen when it happens. I had a healthy libido, but sex just wasn’t at the top of my to-do list.
We had to go back to security and get ready for our flight. We only made out during the time in the chapel. It wasn’t tabloid-worthy news, but it was really fun for the age I was in and my experience up to that point.
To make matters better, I was on the second flight and seated a few aisles away from Jared. We had said bye at the gate. He let me go on to my seat. A older guy sat down next to me. Definitely not Jared, I thought.
Then, this crazy guy, comes up to the guy sitting next to me and asks if he can switch seats with him! I was so embarrassed. The guy looked at him like he was stupid. “It’s my sister,” I hear him say. I was dead silent.
“I guess,” the guy muttered. He begrudgingly went to Jared’s original seat.
“I can’t believe you did that,” I said to him. “Sister? Really?”
“Well, it was better than chick I just made out with in the chapel, wasn’t it?” He asked sarcastically. Okay, yeah. That was better. “Plus,” he said, placing his hand on my wrist. “Now I get to kiss you more. Worth it,” he laughed.
I started laughing. I couldn’t believe how silly it all was. Talk about coming out of my shell! We talked some more, and then made out some more. It was nice because it was dark outside and we made little noise. Not too many people get to makeout with someone they just met at the airport. It was a great story to tell later.
The flight had ended some time later. “Have a good Christmas with you family,” he hugged me. He gave me his phone number and said, “if you want, call me.” Then we said our goodbyes.
It was three years ago when it all happened, but it was a good, fun story I thought I would share.
